Construction on the Westin Cocoa Beach Resort & Spa is progressing as planned, with city leaders projecting completion by 2027. The $420 million project, located at 1300 N. Atlantic Ave., will replace the former International Palms Resort and include a surfing wave pool, multiple restaurants, and 72,000 square feet of outdoor event space. Cocoa Beach Mayor Keith Capizzi said talks with developers Driftwood Capital indicate the project is on schedule for a Memorial Day 2027 opening.
The resort will feature 11 food and beverage venues, a spa, tennis and pickleball courts, and a parking garage for 800 vehicles. City officials estimate the project will generate $1.8 million annually in property taxes for Cocoa Beach alone, with $3 million in tourism tax revenue during its first year of operation. That figure is projected to rise to $4.5 million after five years.
The resort is expected to employ 500 people and include 51,500 square feet of indoor meeting space. Capizzi highlighted the financial benefits for the city, noting the tourism tax revenue will offset approximately $1 million in annual marketing grants from Brevard County.
Construction began in September 2024, and developers have not reported major delays. The project’s completion is anticipated to boost local economic activity and provide long-term tax benefits for Cocoa Beach.
