The Pig & Whistle in Cocoa Beach has donated more than $100,000 to local nonprofits since starting its monthly charity event in 2023. The restaurant gives 100% of its sales on the first Tuesday of each month to a different local organization. Beneficiaries have included youth sports leagues, animal rescues, and veterans groups. Owner Mick Graham said the initiative began when he bought the restaurant in 2022. He wanted to honor its 40-year legacy by supporting the community that built it. 'Our customers now circle those days on their calendars,' Graham said. 'Reaching over $100,000 in total giving proves that when Cocoa Beach supports businesses that give back, it's a win-win for everyone.'
Each month highlights a new charity, with most events raising about $3,500. Recent recipients include Space Coast Little League, Amputee Blade Runners, and Aging Matters. The restaurant donates all sales from the first Tuesday of every month, regardless of how many customers come in. 'We started this to see the direct impact of our support,' Graham said. 'It's not just about the money. It's about being part of the community.'
The Pig & Whistle is located at 240 N. Orlando Ave. in Cocoa Beach. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant combines classic pub fare with a relaxed sports theme. Menu items include Scotch eggs and other pub classics. The building has been a local fixture for four decades, and the charity initiative has become a regular part of its identity.
Graham said the restaurant plans to continue the program. 'We're not done yet,' he said. 'There are still so many organizations in Brevard County that need help.' The Pig & Whistle's next 'Giving Tuesday' is scheduled for July 2, 2026. The event will benefit Brevard Random Acts of Kindness, a nonprofit that provides meals and assistance to people in need.
