Cocoa Beach High School is set to host its 6th annual Tuesday Night XC Invite on October 18, 2026, bringing together cross country teams from Brevard County and surrounding areas. The event, which has grown steadily since its inception, will feature 10 teams competing on the school’s track. Organizers say the invite continues to attract participants from both public and private schools in the region. "This event has become a staple for local athletes," said a spokesperson for Cocoa Beach HS. "It’s a chance for teams to compete in a friendly, community-focused environment." The invite will include teams from Palm Bay, Melbourne, Cocoa, and Orlando, with several schools from Merritt Island also expected to participate. Among the confirmed teams are Bayside High School, Heritage High School, and Merritt Island Christian High School. The event will also include Space Coast High School and First Academy from Orlando, adding to the diversity of competitors. Local schools such as Melbourne Central Catholic High School and Cocoa High School will take part, with results scheduled to be posted online after the meet. The Tuesday Night XC Invite has become a key date in the fall sports calendar for area athletes, drawing participants from as far as Orlando. The race will start at 6:30 p.m., with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. for spectators. The event is free to attend, though teams are encouraged to register early. Previous years have seen strong turnouts, with hundreds of runners and families gathering for the meet.
