Cajun Soul Bistro & Bar has been named the winner of Brevard County's 2026 Wing Battle after securing more than 54% of the final online vote. The restaurant, located in Cocoa Village's historic district, defeated Wing It in Indian Harbour Beach in a close competition that drew thousands of votes from readers. Chef Kenya Davis and co-owner Lance Primeaux said the win is a testament to the community's support. 'Thanks to our supporters and community, Cajun Soul Bistro now serves Brevard's Best Wings,' Davis said. 'We can't wait to celebrate with you all again.'
The victory comes after months of head-to-head voting, with the final round narrowing the field to two contenders. Cajun Soul Bistro & Bar, which opened as a food truck before moving into a brick-and-mortar location at 333 King St., has built a reputation for bold flavors and approachable pricing. The menu features Southern staples like jambalaya, shrimp and grits, and hearty mac bowls, but it's the restaurant's signature wings that drew the most attention this year. 'We've always focused on quality and consistency,' Primeaux said. 'This win shows people are ready for something different.'
The restaurant's success has drawn both locals and tourists to Cocoa Village, a historic area known for its mix of vintage shops and modern eateries. The 2026 Wing Battle, organized by Florida Today, received over 10,000 total votes, with Cajun Soul Bistro & Bar's wings earning the most praise for their 'crispy texture and bold seasoning,' according to one voter. The competition included entries from across Brevard County, but the final round was between the two top contenders.
Cajun Soul Bistro & Bar plans to host a celebration in the coming weeks to mark the win. The restaurant will also introduce a limited-time menu item inspired by the competition. 'We're just getting started,' Davis said. 'This is the beginning of something bigger for us.'
