Rain chances emerged by late Sunday, May 10, with additional precipitation expected next week, according to the National Weather Service. However, officials emphasized that the immediate fire risk remains elevated.
The Compound, a largely unoccupied area, has been a focal point for fire mitigation efforts. Public works teams have been dispatched to clear vegetation and debris to reduce fuel sources.
