A brush fire burning near the intersection of Madden and Olivia roads in Palm Bay has prompted evacuation advisories for residents living within a one-mile radius. Assistant Chief John Ringleb of the Palm Bay Police Department confirmed the fire is actively burning and growing closer to nearby homes. Authorities are urging residents to prepare for possible evacuation as the situation develops. "We are working a brush fire in the area along these roads," Ringleb said. "We are issuing some evacuations as a precaution. As the fire moves closer to some of these houses, you may see a reverse 911 come from Palm Bay PD. Just as a precaution, we are asking everybody within a mile radius to be prepared to evacuate." The Palm Bay Police Department has begun sending reverse 911 notifications to residents in the affected area to ensure they are informed of any changes. Multiple fire units and Florida Forestry Service crews are on the scene working to contain the blaze. The fire has not yet reached any structures, but officials stress the importance of readiness. Residents are advised to monitor communications and follow instructions from local authorities. The fire’s location in a residential area has raised concerns, though no injuries have been reported. Officials say the situation remains fluid, with updates expected as conditions change.
