The Brevard Zoo in Melbourne is giving away free admission for children ages 3 to 18 on May 22, 26 and 27. The offer requires a paying adult who is a Florida resident to accompany each child. Adults must show proof of residency, such as a state-issued photo ID or a utility bill with an address and matching ID. The deal is not available to non-residents and cannot be combined with other discounts.
Zoo officials said one adult ticket can cover up to three children. The promotion is part of the zoo’s efforts to make visits more accessible during the spring season. The Brevard Zoo spans 72 acres and is home to more than 700 animals from 170 species, including lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, kangaroos and monkeys. The zoo also offers animal feedings, behind-the-scenes tours and up-close encounters.
Visitors can see new capybara residents Tupi, Luna and Ginny in the Rainforest Revealed area. The zoo’s senior director of marketing, Emily Thompson, said the free admission days are designed to encourage families to visit without financial barriers. 'We want to make sure all Florida families can experience the zoo,' she said. 'This is a way to share our mission with more people.'
The promotion is available only to Florida residents, and proof of residency must be presented at the entrance. The Brevard Zoo is located at 4201 W New Haven Ave in Melbourne. Admission for adults remains $22.50 on regular days, with discounts available for seniors and military personnel.
