Nonprofits in Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties can apply for the Victory Cup Initiative through Sept. 11. The program offers unrestricted funding and training to help organizations improve their storytelling and connect with philanthropists. Finalists will be announced Oct. 19, with the 12th annual storytelling breakfast set for Feb. 23, 2027, at Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Applications are open through Sept. 11. The Victory Cup Initiative has distributed more than $5 million to 102 local nonprofits over 11 years. Ashley Vann, founder and executive director of the initiative, said finalists develop a story that highlights their mission, impact and why others should invest in their work. The process also gives nonprofit leaders time to refine how they communicate their purpose. Vann said the initiative has supported causes ranging from education and healthcare to housing and workforce development. Past Brevard participants include Family Promise Space Coast, which has helped homeless families in the area. The initiative’s final event in 2026 will be the storytelling breakfast, where finalists will present their work to more than 600 business and philanthropic leaders. Nonprofits interested in applying can visit the Victory Cup Initiative website for details.
