The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office will hold its 2026 Brevard Law Ride at the Veterans Memorial Center Park on May 9, according to Sheriff Wayne Ivey. The event will mark the first time the ride has taken place at the new park located at 555 Fortenberry Road in Merritt Island. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with a rider briefing at 10 a.m. The escorted motorcycle ride will start at 10:30 a.m. along a scenic route led by the BCSO Motor Unit. Helmets are required for all participants.
The charity event, organized by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Charity Inc., will feature vendors, raffles, and family activities. Last year’s ride raised over $200,000 for local law enforcement initiatives. This year’s event will include a new route that passes through the park’s memorial areas, which opened in early 2026. The park includes a 9/11 memorial, a military monument, and a walking trail.
Ivey said the move to the new venue was driven by the need for more space and better accessibility. The park’s location on Merritt Island, a hub for military and aerospace communities, was chosen to honor veterans and first responders. “This is more than a ride,” Ivey said. “It’s a chance to support our officers and remember those who serve.”
The event is open to all motorcycle enthusiasts, with registration available through the sheriff’s office website. Proceeds will fund training programs, equipment upgrades, and community outreach efforts for Brevard County deputies. The ride has grown steadily since its inception in 2008, drawing hundreds of participants each year.
The Veterans Memorial Center Park’s opening in 2026 coincided with the completion of a $5 million expansion project funded by local donations and county bonds. Park officials said the Law Ride will be one of the first major events held at the site.
