The Brevard Humane Society’s 14th Annual East Coast Dog Surfing Festival will take place on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is sponsored by Ron Jon Surf Shop. It marks the first time the festival has occurred since the pandemic, according to organizers.
The festival offers a rare chance for dog owners to bring their pets onto Cocoa Beach’s typically dog-restricted sands. A $5 donation per dog is required for access, with proceeds benefiting the Brevard Humane Society. The event includes a dog surfing competition, pet-friendly vendors, and activities for families.
Lori Wilson Park, located at 1500 N. Atlantic Ave, is a popular spot for beachgoers, but the Humane Society’s festival is one of the few occasions when dogs are allowed on the sand. The event has grown over the years, drawing hundreds of participants and spectators.
The festival aligns with the Humane Society’s mission to promote pet adoption and animal welfare. Last year’s event raised over $10,000 for the organization. This year’s festival will include a pet adoption area, with more than 200 animals available for adoption.
The event is free for humans, but the $5 donation per dog is encouraged. Organizers say the fee helps cover the costs of beach cleanups and safety measures. The festival is expected to draw hundreds of attendees, with food trucks and live music adding to the atmosphere.
