Brevard County Sheriff’s Office will hold its first 'Brevard’s Got Talent' event on Saturday, June 6, at the Florida Tech Clemente Center in Melbourne. The charity show will feature 15 acts selected through auditions and judged by a panel of four, with performances ranging from music and dance to comedy and other unique talents. Sheriff Wayne Ivey said the event aims to highlight local talent while supporting community initiatives.
The sheriff’s office has hosted 'Dancing for the Space Coast' for 10 years, but 'Brevard’s Got Talent' marks a new approach to fundraising. Ivey said the shift reflects the office’s ongoing efforts to engage the public through diverse events. 'We want to showcase the creativity in our community while continuing our work in outreach,' he said.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. and include a variety of family-friendly acts. Performers will be chosen from across Brevard County through an open audition process. Judges will evaluate entries based on skill, originality, and audience appeal.
The charity event will benefit programs that support families, youth, and individuals in need. Previous 'Dancing for the Space Coast' events raised funds for food banks, mentoring programs, and emergency services. This year’s event will follow a similar model but with a broader focus on arts and entertainment.
Tickets for the event are available through the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office website. The Clemente Center, located on Florida Tech’s campus, can hold up to 1,500 people. Organizers expect a full crowd, with proceeds directly funding local charities.
