The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Charity will hold its first 'Brevard’s Got Talent' event on Saturday, June 6, at the Florida Tech Clemente Center in Melbourne. The show replaces the charity’s 10-year-old 'Dancing for the Space Coast' event, which raised funds for local programs. Sheriff Wayne Ivey said the new format will highlight diverse community talent while maintaining the charity’s mission. 'We are excited to introduce Brevard’s Got Talent, a fresh and dynamic fundraising event designed to showcase the incredible talent within our community while continuing our commitment to service and outreach,' Ivey said in a statement. The event will feature 15 acts selected through auditions judged by four panels. Performances will include music, dance, comedy, and other family-friendly acts from across Brevard County. The previous 'Dancing for the Space Coast' event, held annually since 2016, raised over $2 million for initiatives like youth mentorship and domestic violence prevention. This year’s talent show will follow a similar model but with a broader scope. Auditions for the event took place in late April, with winners notified by May 1. The Clemente Center, located at 1500 Research Parkway in Melbourne, will host the show from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Proceeds will support the sheriff’s office charity, which funds programs including food banks, veteran services, and emergency response training. The event marks a shift for the charity, which Ivey said was needed to 'adapt to changing community needs while keeping our core mission intact.'
