The Scouts answered in unison when asked about their favorite part of the day: the helicopter. 'The helicopter!' they shouted, their voices filling the hangar. The aircraft, operated by Health First’s First Flight, became the star of the visit, but the Scouts left with something else—skills that could save lives in emergencies. 'This was a chance to learn real-world techniques,' said one Scout, who practiced applying tourniquets and using止血带 during the training. The session, led by First Flight crew members, focused on stopping severe bleeding, a critical skill in medical emergencies. The Scouts also assembled first-aid kits, which they will take home for use in their communities. The visit included a tour of the helicopter, where they learned about the equipment used in medical transports. Health First’s First Flight provides air ambulance services across Brevard County, responding to emergencies in remote areas. The training day was organized by Scouting America, which partners with local organizations to teach youth practical skills.
