The California-based chain received 37.7% of the votes in a survey of fast-casual dining options, outpacing competitors like White Castle and Sweetgreen. The poll asked residents which new restaurant they’d most like to see open along the Space Coast, and In-N-Out emerged as the clear winner.
The fast-casual dining scene in Brevard is growing, with options ranging from fried chicken tenders to ramen bowls. Yet, for many locals, In-N-Out remains a distant craving. The closest location is hundreds of miles away in Georgia, and the chain has no plans for Florida locations beyond Tennessee, where several new stores are set to open soon.
In-N-Out was founded in 1948 in Baldwin Park, California, by Harry and Esther Snyder. The chain is known for using fresh, never-frozen ingredients and selecting locations based on distribution centers. It now operates over 425 restaurants across 10 states. Despite its expansion, the chain has avoided Florida so far, leaving Brevard residents to wait.
The poll, updated March 2, 2026, reflects a growing appetite for the chain’s iconic double-double burgers and its reputation as a West Coast staple. While other chains like Jack in the Box and Sweetgreen also drew support, In-N-Out’s dominance in the vote highlights its status as a sought-after but elusive option for Florida diners.
