Brevard County voters decided key local and state races in the Aug. 18 primary election, with winners in contested races moving forward to the general election on Nov. 3. The results, which are unofficial until certified by election supervisors, include races for school board seats, circuit judges, city council positions and state legislative districts. Only races with multiple candidates are included, and only the top three vote-getters are displayed in each contest.
The primary featured 22 contested races across Brevard County, including five school board districts, three circuit judge groups and multiple city council seats. Notable races included Brevard County Commission District 1 and 4, as well as Palm Bay and Titusville city council seats. Results for Florida governor, agriculture commissioner and chief financial officer positions were also tallied, though specific candidates are not named in the initial reports.
Election officials caution that results may be incomplete or unsorted before full tabulation. The top three candidates in each race are listed, but final certification could change the order. For example, in the Brevard County School Board District 2 race, three candidates received the most votes, but no candidate secured an outright majority. Similar outcomes were seen in several judicial and local government contests.
The general election will determine final winners in all races, with voters choosing between candidates who advanced from the August primary. Ballots for the Nov. 3 election will include all statewide and local races, including U.S. Senate and Florida House and Senate districts. Election supervisors are expected to release certified results by early September, though some races may take longer to finalize due to mail-in ballot processing.
