The Melbourne 9/11 Memorial 5K will kick off the commemorations on Sept. 5 at 7:30 a.m. in Eau Gallie Square. A Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony will be held in Palm Bay on Sept. 11 at 8:30 a.m. at Sacrifice Park, 120 Malabar Road SE. The event will include guest speakers and moments of reflection, according to the city’s website. Meanwhile, Rockledge will host a ceremony on Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at Rockledge City Hall, 1600 Huntington Lane. The gathering will feature musical tributes, speeches, and a wreath-laying ceremony honoring victims, first responders, and military personnel.
On Merritt Island, the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center will hold a 9/11 Commemoration at 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 in its plaza, 400 S. Sykes Creek Parkway. The event aims to remember those who died in the attacks and those affected afterward, including first responders and civilians. Organizers note that some events may have changed or been canceled, urging attendees to confirm details with local organizers.
