The schedule includes football, soccer, and volleyball matches across the county, with several teams aiming to make early-season statements. Satellite High’s football team hosts Palm Bay in a key matchup at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, while Westside’s girls’ volleyball squad faces Cocoa in a highly anticipated contest on Friday.
The week’s events also highlight long-standing rivalries. Ridge High and Evans High will clash in a football game on Thursday, with Ridge looking to defend its 2025 district title. The game is expected to draw a large crowd at Ridge’s stadium, which has a capacity of 3,500. Meanwhile, Titusville High’s boys’ soccer team faces a tough test against Merritt Island in a 4 p.m. showdown on Wednesday.
Local coaches have emphasized preparation for the season’s challenges. Satellite High’s football coach, Mark Reynolds, said his team is focusing on defensive improvements after a strong preseason. "We’ve got a lot of talent, but we need to execute better in key moments," Reynolds said during a recent practice. Similarly, Westside’s volleyball coach, Lisa Nguyen, highlighted the importance of teamwork. "Every match is a chance to grow," she said.
The schedule also includes games in smaller schools, such as the girls’ basketball exhibition between Astronaut High and Space Coast High on Monday. The event, held at Astronaut’s gym, is expected to feature a community open house with food trucks and live music.
