District 1, which has been vacant since Katie Delaney resigned earlier this year, has seven candidates vying for the seat. The race for District 3 also includes multiple contenders. Sirois will take office after the November election, assuming the role that Delaney held before her resignation. No other candidates filed for the District 2 seat by the June 12 deadline, ensuring Sirois' uncontested path to the commission. His transition from state representative to county commissioner marks a shift in his political career, but he has said his policy priorities will remain focused on local issues like roads, environmental protection, and community programs.
