Brevard County athletes shine at Class 3A state track and field meet

Brevard County high school track and field athletes competed at the FHSAA Class 3A state championships in Jacksonville on May 8, 2026, with several local competitors earning top finishes. Satellite High’s Celina Coryell won the girls 3,200-meter run, outpacing Bishop Moore’s Annabella Tomasic in a close race. Rockledge’s Christopher Gordon claimed victory in the boys 400-meter dash, while Satellite’s Keira Merrick took first in the girls 800-meter event. The meet featured multiple Brevard County athletes in individual and relay events, highlighting the region’s depth in track and field.

Rockledge’s Christina Jones and Auburndale’s Wizly Payoute competed in the girls 200-meter race, with Jones finishing strong in the 2784 heat. In the girls 4x100 relay, Rockledge’s Estella Allen and Reyna Gaines anchored the team, passing the baton smoothly during the race. Laila Dupuch of Rockledge also ran in the girls 400-meter event, adding to the school’s presence at the meet. Satellite’s Bailey Madsen prepared for her javelin throw, part of the field events that drew attention from coaches and spectators.

Other notable performances included Rockledge’s Kalaijah Baker, who competed in multiple events, and several athletes from Satellite and Rockledge who advanced to the finals.
