Discount grocer Aldi is expanding in Florida with six new store openings scheduled for April, part of a nationwide plan to open over 180 locations in 2026. The first of these new stores will open in Micco, Brevard County, on Thursday, April 9, with doors opening at 9 a.m. after a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The store is at 7960 U.S. 1. The first 200 shoppers in line will receive goody bags filled with Aldi-exclusive products and a 'Golden Ticket' for a chance to win gift cards worth up to $100. Shoppers will also get free tote bags while supplies last.
Additional stores will open on April 16 in Panama City at 2533 Thomas Drive, and in St. Petersburg at 11100 4th Street North. On April 23, locations will open in Bradenton at 6040 Crossland Trail, Sebastian at 995 Sebastian Boulevard, and Venice at 458 Venice Bypass. These openings bring Aldi's total Florida store count to 11 in 2026, adding to two stores that opened in Boca Raton and Fernandina Beach last week.
Each grand opening event includes giveaways for the first 200 shoppers, who will receive a gift bag of Aldi-exclusive products and a Golden Ticket for a $10, $25, or $100 gift card. The promotions are part of Aldi's strategy to attract customers to its no-frills, low-price model. The company has not disclosed how many of its 180 planned national openings will be in Florida beyond the 11 already confirmed.
Aldi's expansion comes as the chain continues to grow its footprint across the state. The new stores in Micco, Panama City, and St. Petersburg are in areas where the company has not previously operated, signaling a push into new markets. Local residents have expressed interest in the stores, with some noting the convenience of having an Aldi location nearby. The company has not commented on future expansion plans beyond 2026.
