A $28 million senior housing project in Titusville reached a key construction milestone this week as officials celebrated the topping off of Forest Glen, an 80-unit affordable housing community. The event marked the completion of vertical construction on the development, which will provide housing for low-income seniors in Brevard County and begin pre-leasing in early 2027. The project is a partnership between Housing Trust Group (HTG) and HfH Supportive Housing, with HTG’s second development in Titusville and third collaboration with HfH.
The topping off ceremony included officials such as Jason Larson, senior vice president of development for HTG; Leeanne Sacino, president and CEO of HfH; Mayor Andrew Connors of Titusville; and Tom Kammerdener, president and CEO of Aging Matters. Located at 2001 South Street, Forest Glen will offer 72 one-bedroom and 8 two-bedroom apartments for seniors earning at or below 40% and 60% of the area median income (AMI). Rents will range from approximately $750 to $1,350 per month.
Matthew Rieger, president and CEO of HTG, said the project addresses a growing need for affordable housing as Florida’s senior population expands. He emphasized that the development allows seniors to age in place with dignity. The Brevard Homeless Coalition has highlighted that older adults are a significant and growing portion of the region’s unhoused population, underscoring the urgency for more options.
Forest Glen is designed to provide stable housing for seniors facing displacement due to rising costs. The project is part of HTG’s broader efforts to expand affordable housing in Brevard County, with HfH contributing its expertise in supportive housing. Pre-leasing is expected to begin in early 2027, with the community set to open shortly after.
