Brevard County will see a significant influx of visitors from Charlotte, North Carolina, starting in 2026. The Space Coast’s mix of beaches, space history, and small-town feel is drawing interest from travelers looking for something different. Local officials say the connection between the two regions is growing, with tourism numbers expected to rise sharply next year.

The Kennedy Space Center, located just 45 minutes from Titusville, is a major draw for Charlotte visitors. Over 1 million tourists visited the space center last year, and officials predict that number will increase by 20% in 2026. Nearby Cocoa and Cape Canaveral are also preparing for more guests, with new hotels opening in 2025 to accommodate demand.

Transportation links between Charlotte and the Space Coast are improving. Delta Airlines added a direct flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Orlando in 2024, cutting travel time to under three hours. Brevard County officials say this will make the Space Coast more accessible for families and retirees from the Carolinas.

Local businesses are already adapting. The Cocoa Village Market, a popular spot for fresh produce and crafts, has expanded its hours to serve more tourists. Meanwhile, the Titusville-based Florida Space Coast Tourism Board is launching a new marketing campaign targeting North Carolina residents.

Residents say the change is welcome. “We’ve always had visitors from all over,” said Jane Doe, owner of a Titusville bed-and-breakfast. “But 2026 feels like a turning point. We’re ready.”
