Tammy Dennis, a resident of Indialantic, is running for Brevard School Board District 5 in the 2026 election. She has lived in Brevard County for six to 10 years and currently works as a home manager. Dennis has no prior elected office experience but has been active in community and civic roles. She is not seeking higher office and is running as a nonpartisan candidate.
Dennis has served on the Independent Citizen Oversight Committee for over four years, monitoring the annual surtax for the Brevard County School Board. She also sits on the Audit Committee, reviewing audits of school district operations, processes, and finances. Her work with these committees comes after years of community engagement in arts programs. She previously led musical theater productions in churches, coordinating over 120 volunteers and presenting free shows to more than 2,000 people.
In her community work, Dennis expanded a children’s choir program from three choirs to seven. She integrated drama, dance, rhythm, and art into the curriculum, rebranding it as “KIDS UNLIMITED … Arts for a new Millennium.” The program involved volunteer teams and gave children opportunities to perform and display their art. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Bob Jones University and has piano proficiency.
Dennis has not served in the military and has focused her career on community and educational initiatives. Her experience on oversight and audit committees, combined with her arts program leadership, forms the basis of her campaign. She has not announced any plans to run for office beyond the school board.
