Brevard HEAT visits MCC Monday: records, rankings and the varsity start time
A 7 p.m. volleyball rematch brings together teams from different districts. Here is the current record comparison and how to distinguish the freshman, JV and varsity listings.
Brevard HEAT visits Melbourne Central Catholic for girls varsity volleyball on Monday, September 28, at 7 p.m. HEAT enters with a posted 14–4 record; MCC is 7–8.
A rematch, with different district races
MCC’s school schedule records a 3–0 loss at Brevard HEAT on August 25. Monday reverses the venue. It is listed as a non-district match: HEAT plays in 1A District 8 and MCC in 2A District 5, so this meeting does not put them against each other in the same district table.
MaxPreps lists HEAT at 1–1 and fourth in its district, and MCC at 2–3 and fourth in its own. Its September 28 ranking snapshot places HEAT No. 115 statewide and No. 6 in Florida 1A; MCC is No. 390 statewide and No. 64 in Florida 2A. The class positions come from different lists. They are dated MaxPreps rankings, not announced playoff seeds or a prediction of Monday’s result.
Choose the right match time
The varsity match is at Melbourne Central Catholic High School. NFHS Network separately lists freshman girls at 5 p.m. and junior varsity girls at 6 p.m., followed by varsity at 7 p.m. All times here are Eastern. The earlier listings are separate team levels, not alternative start times for varsity.
On Tuesday, September 29, HEAT’s next listed match is at home against Rockledge at 7 p.m. MCC’s school schedule has the Hustlers at Merritt Island Christian that evening, also at 7 p.m., then at Bayside on Thursday, October 1, at 7 p.m. Recheck the linked school and team schedules before making the trip.
Records and schedules were checked Monday afternoon, September 28, against MaxPreps, the host school’s schedule and NFHS Network.
