Brevard County’s final operating and capital budget is about $2.43 billion for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027. The county has posted its September 22 adoption resolution, giving residents a final record to consult alongside the earlier budget proposals.

Two documents answer different questions

Resolution 26-091 establishes the overall budget. Resolution 26-090 lists the final property-tax millages for the taxing entities under the County Commission. Use the first to check the spending total and the second to inspect a particular county rate; neither document is an individual property-tax bill.

The county operating rate is 3.0942 mills. Its table shows that rate as 10% above the rolled-back rate of 2.8129 mills. The library district is listed separately at 0.3240 mills, and mosquito control at 0.1339 mills. Those are distinct rows, so the operating-rate percentage should not be described as an across-the-board increase in every county rate.

Read the percentage labels carefully

The resolution’s aggregate adopted rate is 4.7491 mills. Its aggregate comparison is 6.12% above the rolled-back rate, while the change from the aggregate current rate is 5.75%. These percentages use different comparison points. They should not be substituted for one another or presented as a guaranteed change in a homeowner’s bill.

The county’s adopted-budget page now links both resolutions, but the full adopted-budget section still says it is coming soon. For now, readers can follow the document links below to verify the final total and rates. This update does not claim a vote tally, department-by-department changes or a personal tax estimate that these records do not establish.
