Titusville boil-water notice continues near Garden Street and Hopkins Avenue
Water service has been restored, but listed properties must continue precautions until the city rescinds its notice. An October 7 road update warns of possible evening paving work.
Titusville’s precautionary boil-water notice remains posted for specific addresses near Garden Street and Hopkins Avenue as of Wednesday evening, October 7. It follows the October 5 water-main break and is not a citywide notice.
The city says service has been restored after the main was shut off around 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 5, for repairs. Restored service does not end the precautionary notice: affected residents should continue following it until rescission notices are received.
The city lists these addresses: South Hopkins Avenue — 04, 3558, 3556, 3659 and 3667; Garden Street — 9, 410, 414, 450, 490 and 425; Lemon Street — 10, 12, 18, 20, 22 and 26; Orange Avenue — 400 and 310. Check the linked city notice against your address.
For those properties, the city directs residents to boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. Bring it to a rolling boil for one minute, then let it cool, or use bottled water. The notice allows bathing, laundry and other non-consumptive uses.
The city says the notice remains until a bacteriological survey confirms the water is safe to drink and rescission notices are issued. Its anticipated October 8 end date is not an automatic all-clear. Questions can go to Public Works Field Operations at 321-567-3883, or the emergency call-out line at 321-383-5657 after 4 p.m.
For drivers, the city’s October 7 road update says the Garden Street–U.S. 1 intersection is expected to reopen and may close again that evening, weather permitting, to complete paving. The update gives no clock time for reopening. Check the current city road notice and follow posted restrictions.
Titusville is also carrying out separate routine water-disinfection maintenance from October 3 through October 30. That general maintenance announcement does not rescind the address-specific boil-water notice; affected properties should keep following the precautionary instructions above.
