Rita Pritchett serves District 1 after July appointment
Official records identify Pritchett’s county seat, prior elections and District 1 contact information following the July 17, 2026, appointment.
Rita Pritchett represents District 1 on the Brevard County Commission. Governor Ron DeSantis announced her appointment on July 17, 2026.
The county biography records Pritchett’s election as District 1 commissioner in November 2016 and her election to a second term in 2020. It also says she previously served two terms on the Titusville City Council.
In its July 17 announcement, the governor’s office described Pritchett as a professor at Eastern Florida State College and an administrator at New Life Space Coast Church and Academy. It said she earned a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Central Florida.
The county lists Cocoa, Scottsmoor, Mims, Titusville, Port St. John, Canaveral Groves and Sharpes on its District 1 page. Residents can use the Find Your District map linked from that page to check their own district rather than relying on a community name alone.
