Cocoa Beach marked its centennial with a City Hall ribbon cutting
The city scheduled its May 1, 2025 ceremony at 2 S. Orlando Ave. The ceremony date and the building’s first day of municipal operations are separate milestones.
Historical report — May 3, 2025. Cocoa Beach’s City Hall ribbon cutting was part of its centennial celebration, according to Space Coast Daily’s May 3 report. The report also describes the unveiling of a city flag.
The city’s dated invitation scheduled the ribbon cutting for May 1, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at 2 S. Orlando Ave. It listed an opening performance by the Cocoa Beach High School Orchestra and a walk through the facilities, followed by a City Commission meeting at 7 p.m. These were the announced program details; they are not an invitation to an upcoming event.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and the first day municipal operations begin in a building are different milestones. The city invitation and calendar establish the ceremony schedule; neither gives the initial operational opening date. This article does not assign one.
Correction: The earlier version stated that City Hall opened in 2024. That statement was unsupported. This revision identifies the city’s May 1, 2025 ceremony schedule, replaces an incomplete ending and removes unsupported descriptions of the building’s design and attendance.
